FAQ
Questions,
answered.
Everything you need to know before choosing your sauna. Still unsure? Call 0401 696 261 or email sales@nordhaus.com.au.
What is a full spectrum infrared sauna?
A full spectrum infrared sauna uses near, mid and far infrared wavelengths together, where a standard infrared sauna uses far infrared only. Near infrared works at the surface of the skin, mid infrared reaches into muscle tissue, and far infrared penetrates deepest for core-level heat.
The Nordhaus 2 Person Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna combines 7 far infrared panels with 2 full spectrum heaters to deliver all three.
What is the difference between an infrared sauna and a traditional sauna?
An infrared sauna heats your body directly, so the air stays cooler. This sauna runs between 30 and 75°C. A traditional sauna heats the air with an electric heater and stones, reaching up to 90°C or more, and lets you pour water on the stones for steam.
Choose infrared if you prefer a gentler heat you can sit in for longer. Choose traditional if you want high heat and steam. Our sauna buying guide compares the two in detail.
How hot does the 2 Person Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna get?
The temperature is adjustable from 30 to 75°C, and sessions run for up to 90 minutes. Because infrared warms the body directly, most people find it comfortable at a much lower air temperature than a traditional sauna.
Is this a low EMF infrared sauna?
Yes. The heaters are designed with low EMF heating technology, so you can relax through a full session.
What power does the 2 Person Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna need?
It needs a dedicated 15 amp circuit, installed by a licensed electrician. Total draw is 2,950W. The 15 amp wall socket is not included and is supplied and installed by your electrician.
The cost of the electrical work depends on your switchboard and how far the cable has to run, so it is worth getting a quote from a local electrician before you order.
How much space do I need for the 2 Person Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna?
The sauna measures 120cm wide x 100cm deep x 190cm high and seats two adults. The bench is 101cm wide x 45cm deep x 45cm high.
Allow 200mm of clearance above the sauna for assembly, and keep the vents clear so air can circulate.
Can this sauna be installed outside?
It is designed for indoor use or fully covered outdoor areas only, such as under a patio or veranda or inside a garage.
It should not sit out in the open. Water damage to an indoor model used outdoors is not covered by warranty. For an exposed backyard, see our outdoor full spectrum infrared sauna, which is built for it.
Can I control the sauna from my phone?
Yes. It has a touchscreen WiFi control panel with app access, so you can set the temperature and start preheating before you step inside.
What features are included?
- 7 far infrared panels and 2 full spectrum heaters
- Touchscreen WiFi control with app access
- 7 colour chromotherapy LED lighting with cycle mode
- Bluetooth, FM radio and built-in speakers
- Built-in phone or tablet holder
- 8mm grey tinted tempered safety glass
How hard is the sauna to assemble?
It arrives flat-packed in multiple boxes and is an easy DIY job for two people, taking around 90 minutes. A licensed electrician then completes the electrical connection.
Prefer it done for you? Our recommended partner offers professional assembly in selected areas, and you can check assembly pricing and availability online.
Can the sauna be built into a wall or cavity?
Yes. Our indoor saunas can be built into a wall or custom cavity for a seamless finish. Allow about 200mm of additional clearance so the sauna can be assembled and positioned, and make sure the cavity is ventilated with all sauna vents left unobstructed.
What is the sauna made from?
The cabin is built from premium Canadian Hemlock with 8mm grey tinted tempered safety glass and a roof mounted ventilation system.
What are the benefits of a full spectrum infrared sauna?
Infrared heat is commonly used to support circulation, muscle recovery and relaxation, at a lower air temperature than a traditional sauna. Many owners use it daily after training or to wind down in the evening, and pair it with a cold plunge for contrast therapy at home.
How do I look after the sauna?
Care is simple. Wipe the bench down after use and leave the door open so the cabin can air dry.
What warranty comes with the 2 Person Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna?
For home use, the cabin, electrical components and infrared heating elements are covered for 5 years, and the stereo and accessories for 1 year. Commercial use is covered for 1 year. Full details are on our warranty page.

I’m so wrapped with my new 4-6 person traditional sauna - perfect build quality, so easy to assemble, so easy for my electrician to connect - heats up in minutes. Been in it every day for the last month! Can highly recommend!!! Thank you Nordhaus 🙏🙏
Very relaxing. So nice to have a private sauna at home to myself!
I am the happiest person in the world now I have my sauna, to put it together was so simple. I would and have recommended to many others, 5 stars!
Fantastic experience with the Nordhaus team from start to finish. The customer service was excellent, communication was easy, and the quality of our traditional sauna is outstanding. We’re extremely happy with our purchase and would highly recommend Nordhaus to anyone looking for a premium sauna
Excellent Quality and Great Service! I recently purchased a Nordhaus 2-3 persons indoor traditional sauna and finally got it fully installed and running. After doing a lot of thorough research, I actually ended up cancelling my initial purchase with a cheaper sauna brand and ordered this Nordhaus instead. Looking back, that was the best decision I could have made. The quality of the materials and the overall experience have been fantastic. The assembly took some time, but once it's up, it looks and works brilliantly. Dealing with the Nordhaus team has been smooth and professional from start to finish. Highly recommend them if you're looking for a premium home sauna setup!
We love our new sauna. Nordhaus have been great with delivery, set up and after sales support.
We recently installed this sauna at our home and couldn’t be happier with the result. The assembly process was surprisingly straightforward, with clear instructions that made installation easy from start to finish. The quality of the sauna is excellent, and it has quickly become one of our favourite additions to the house. What really stood out was the communication from the company throughout the entire process. They were responsive, helpful, and kept us informed every step of the way, making the whole experience stress-free. If you’re considering a home sauna, I would highly recommend this company. Great product, easy setup, and outstanding customer service.
Amazing sauna, I use most nights! It’s been so nice to have 30 mins in the late evening to just sit still and feel my muscles relax! ❤️
What an amazing sauna! This is one of the best I’ve ever used! If your looking for a reliable quality sauna look no further
We added a 3-person sauna to our ensuite to make use of some extra space, and it's been a great investment. We use it 3+ times a week, mainly for muscle recovery after workouts, and it's made a noticeable difference. We also love the two bench levels - the higher bench gets noticeably hotter than the lower one, which is great depending on how intense you want your session. The biggest surprise has been the sleep - when we do use the sauna before bed, it gives us some of the best nights of sleep we've had. If you have the room and are considering it, we'd absolutely recommend it - not just as a luxury, but as something that genuinely supports your health and wellness.
Great product, using it on a daily basis!
We love the new far infrared three person sauna. I use it every morning after my walk and my wife uses it most evenings after the kids are asleep. Temperature is perfect and heating time is good. Lights and Bluetooth are great. Set up is fairly straight forward, definitely a two person job. In short we are very happy and regret not purchasing earlier!
Absolutely love the Nordhaus traditional sauna, heats up quickly, holds temperature consistently, and just feels premium the moment you step in. It’s become a daily reset for me, proper sweat, clear head, and noticeably better recovery and sleep.
Beautiful Sauna. Harvia heater controls are easy to use but could have a more clear indication when the heater is either on or off.
Ordering process and communication with Nordhaus was absolutely seamless! I didn’t have time to set it up myself and the team at Nordhaus organised someone within 3 days of request Highly recommend, highly efficient, great product!
Arrived on time after a minor hiccup with delivery. John was very helpful in answering any questions and helping with questions the electrician had. Cannot fault the service. Sauna was simple to put together especially with the video to help. Used it for the last week happy with our purchase. Thanks John and Jeven
This Sauna was super simple to set up, looks very modern and feels super beneficial. The support team was very helpful and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this to anyone who’s looking to start their sauna journey.
Absolute amazing service from Nordhause from first enquiry to completion . A really great experience from a team that truly cares.
Very pleased with our new sauna. We went with the 4-6 person traditional sauna and couldn't be happier. Easy to assemble and heats much faster than expected. Nothing can beat the feeling of relaxation from the heat and steam combination. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Nordhaus 👍
We couldn’t be happier with our purchase! Nordhaus service was second to none and the bath is simply amazing. Beautifully designed, painfully cold (in a good way!)
Love it! Set up was simple enough and the more powerful heater makes all the difference. Heats up quick and simple to operate.
Love my new Nordhaus Sauna, super easy to setup, super cheap to run, wish I’d bought ages ago!
We absolutely love the sauna! My husband and I used to pay for sauna sessions 2–3 times a week, so having one at home has been a total game changer. It’s just so easy and convenient to use whenever we want, and it’s become a really important part of our routine. It’s been especially great for my husband’s mental health — having that time to unwind at home has made such a difference. We went with the steam heater option and honestly love it — we personally find it much better than infrared. It heats up well, feels amazing, and the whole setup process was super easy. The only thing we’d change would be having the ability to turn it on from our phones, but aside from that we couldn’t be happier with it!
I recently purchased my cold plunge from Nordhaus and couldn’t be happier with the experience. I did run into a small issue while setting up the chiller, but their team was incredibly helpful and responsive. They guided me through everything step-by-step until it was running perfectly. The customer service alone is top-tier, and the plunge itself looks absolutely elite — super clean and niche 👌🏽 Highly recommend Nordhaus to anyone looking to get into cold plunging. Thank you John & Jeven
Huge shoutout to Nordhaus. After so much research, I decided on their full spectrum infrared sauna. It was very important to me to choose a company that didn’t use toxic glues or materials. After tossing up between their traditional and infrared options, I’m so happy with my decision. It’s a huge part of my detox journey, and I love the research indicating improved longevity and overall health. The team were supportive with my decision, and the sales process was simple. I’ve been using it every day, and I love it. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality sauna.
Actually brought this for an ‘onsen’ hot tub experience rather than an ice bath. Quick delivery and great service from the Nordhaus team. Recommend the 2HP Pro unit as it can get up to temp (41C) in about 30-40mins from approx 23C. This is great for me as I don’t use everyday and don’t want it running all week and can spin up when needed. When getting up to temp the unit does make some noise but not too much - about what you’d expect from a similar sized aircon unit. Only point for improvement I can think of is the provided connecting hoses need to be longer to provide more flexibility in placement of the heating/cooling unit. Overall highly recommend if you are in the market for a hot/cold tub.
Love our icebath . Love the customer service at Nordhaus . Thankyou for the best recovery !!
Really enjoying both the ice bath and the sauna I’ve had an infrared sauna before however I do believe that the hot rock version is much better. It gets a lot harder and it also usually the option for the Steam great product reasonably priced.
Nordhaus Ice Bath - Matte Black - Oval + 4-6 Person Traditional Sauna
Absolutely loving my Sauna- it’s become a part of daily life and I can’t imagine not having it now!
Our NEW Sauna, we are ready for take off! Feeling relaxed and calm. Thank you Nordhaus.
Company is very professional and great to deal with. The product has been made well for the most part but there are a few items not quite as you would expect from photos. The front heaters have leads hanging down at the front which are not shown in any photos and are always exposed. The heaters themselves use folded stainless that can bend in very easily exposing a sharp edge. The external roof is made of 6mm MDF and very fragile and not really fit for purpose. Mine broke when unpacking and will be replacing it with a piece an formply. The unit was delayed 6 additional weeks from what I was originally advised.
I recently purchased the 4–6 person traditional sauna from Nordhaus and couldn’t be happier. Delivery was on time, the assembly was very straightforward, and the quality of the unit is excellent. It heats up well and looks great, overall a fantastic sauna and a great addition to the home. Highly recommend! 🔥🧖♂️
I absolutely friggin looove my new traditional sauna from Nordhaus. My preferred temperature is 85 degrees which the sauna can easily handle. Using the sauna has become a daily ritual for my wife and I and we feel fantastic as a result. The sauna itself feels like it is made from quality wood and materials and has a nice minimalist aesthetic that we like. The team at Nordhaus were super helpful in making arrangements for delivery and the set up process was fairly straightforward. I highly recommend Nordhaus' traditional saunas.
Great service and the ice bath is great. Easily one of the best looking ice baths on the market.
We use it everyday and the it’s become our family ritual of evening. Our bodies are sooooo greatful for it.
Loving this sauna from Nordhaus. Heats up really quick and the quality of materials is great. Instructions to set up are easy to follow. Would recommend
The sauna is perfect size for me as one person. It fits in the space very well. It looks so great in our recovery area, stylish with its lighting and wood finish. Overall very happy with it 🙏🏽
Absolutely love it! Have used it nearly everyday since receiving it. Was surprisingly easy to assemble. Highly recommend it!
Really great quality. Installation was simple (for my partner and a friend). Like all saunas it needs airflow to get it to 80+ degrees (from underneath and roof vent as well as around the element). John was super helpful. The delivery driver brilliant as well. Highly recommend this sauna, well worth buying from Nordhaus for sure. Nord look and the quality heater and timber makes a difference. Heats up in around 45 mins, simple to use and gets me sweating within 5 mins. I use a sauna felt hat to help protect my head and hair. Looks absolutely stunning and is a great addition to our outdoor covered area. thanks for a well designed, quality sauna!
I did a lot of research before settling on a Nordhaus sauna and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Compared to the similarly priced competition, Nordhaus use a larger heater (4.5kw) and 8mm glass instead of 6mm. When it arrived I was impressed by the build quality and attention to detail. It is also very easy to assemble. John and Jeven have been excellent every step of the way. We had a minor hiccup with the transport company but that was sorted out quickly by John and his team and the actual delivery driver couldn't have been more accommodating. I would recommend a Nordhaus traditional sauna to anyone with no hesitation.
