3 Person Outdoor Traditional Sauna: Manual & Guides
← All support and setup guidesThe installation and user manual, Harvia heater documents and Harvia Fenix control panel guides for your 3 Person Outdoor Traditional Sauna.
Installation and user manual
The 3 Person and 4-5 Person Outdoor Traditional Saunas share one manual. It covers assembly step by step, the steps for your electrician, electrical requirements, the 12V LED driver, the Harvia wiring diagrams, how to use and care for your sauna, and your warranty.
Installing the sauna requires a minimum of two people.
Harvia The Wall 6kW heater
Your sauna is fitted with a genuine Harvia The Wall 6kW electric heater (model SW60E) in black steel, with 20kg of Harvia stones. The heater is controlled from the Harvia Fenix control panel. The Harvia manual covers stone placement, safety distances, installation and resetting the overheat protector.
How to stack your sauna stones into your Harvia heater
The piling of the sauna stones has a great effect on both the safety and the heating capability of the heater, especially for electric heaters. Always check the right heater stone size and amount from the manual included with the heater. Smaller 5 to 10 cm diameter stones are usually used in electric heaters as they fit well between heating elements. Smaller stone sizes are also used on the top layer of woodburning heaters as they create more surfaces for steam generation. Larger 10 to 15 cm diameter stones are used in woodburning heaters and also in selected Harvia electric heaters with larger stone capacity.
Start the stone piling by washing off the dust from the stones before placing them into the heater. Be aware that the type and the shape of the heater affect the piling structure of the stones. Your best guide for doing this properly for your selected heater is to follow the instructions included in the heater manual. Here are a few important tips for piling sauna heater stones for all Harvia heater types.
- Do not drop stones into the heater
- Arrange the stones evenly and loosely to ensure air can flow between them
- Do not form a high pile of stones on top of the heater
- Do not place stones on top of the heater frame
- Place elongated stones vertically in the heater
Also note for electric heaters:
- Do not wedge stones between the heating elements
- Pile the stones so that they support each other instead of resting heavily on the heating elements
- Support the heating elements with stones so they don't bend
New stones may give the sauna a natural stone scent during the first heating. After piling the stones, we recommend heating the sauna and pouring enough water to douse all the stones. This will help remove any unwanted scent from the stones after the initial use.
Harvia Fenix control panel
Your sauna is controlled from the Harvia Fenix WiFi touch panel, mounted on the back wall under the backrest so it is within reach while seated, or from the MyHarvia app on your phone.
- Touch panel: turn the heater on and off, set the temperature and session time, and switch the lights.
- MyHarvia app: preheat your sauna remotely, schedule sessions and adjust temperature, time and lighting from your phone.
- Temperature: up to 110°C.
- Heat-up time: approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
- Session length: 1 to 6 hours of operation.
- WiFi: the panel connects to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Keeping it connected also keeps its software up to date.
